Sam and Dean investigate a house occupied by a female ghost, but when a new family moves in things take a turn for the worse.

Three superheroes from the future travel to the past and join Clark in hopes that together they can defeat Brainiac, who has taken over Chloe's body.

Clark is attacked by the Persuader in his barn, but before he is killed a trio of superpowered aliens, called the Legion, shows up and saves him. While inhabiting Chloe's body, Brainiac informs Davis that he will soon become the creature "Doomsday" permanently, and places him in an ice cocoon for the metamorphosis. Rokk, Imra, and Garth inform Clark that today was the day he was supposed to destroy Brainiac for good, but because the only way for him to do that will be to kill Chloe. Brainiac begins sucking the knowledge from every human mind through the world's computer network when he is attacked by the Legion. Before the Legion can kill Chloe Clark intervenes and convinces them to focus their powers and pull Brainiac out of Chloe. Afterward, the Legion takes what is left of Brainiac with them back to the future to reprogram him for something positive.

Penny's criticism of Wolowitz's romantic life pushes him into depression and AWOL for a fighting robot battle the rest of guys are depending on him for.

Following Amanda's abduction in "I've Had the Time of My Life", Kyle plots to rescue her from Latnok's clutches with Jessi's assistance.

News of Peyton's condition spreads like wildfire through Tree Hill. Brooke tries to suss out Julian's intentions. Mouth and Millicent strive to keep their relationship going. Meanwhile, Peyton and Lucas babysit Jamie and his friend when Nathan and Haley spend a night out together.

In the reading of Bart's will, Chuck, Bart's brother, Jack and Lily learn that Chuck is now the CEO of Bass Industries. Chuck agrees that Jack became his guardian.

Noticing the strange way his father has been acting lately, Dan does some investigating and uncovers Rufus and Lily's secret, and he has to decide now what to do and who to tell the shocking revelation.

With Chuck MIA since his father's funeral, Uncle Jack arrives on the Upper East Side to help Chuck pick up the messy pieces, but first he has to find him. Trying her best to forget her last painful exchange with Chuck, Blair focuses her attention on being accepted into the most prestigious ladies club in the city, Colony Club. Jenny returns to Constance Billard and immediately takes on Penelope and her posse of mean girls. Noticing that his father has been acting strangely as of late, Dan does some investigating and uncovers Rufus and Lilly’s secret, putting him in the awkward situation of deciding what to do with this shocking revelation and who to share it with. Rufus and Lilly's love child is revealed to be a boy. Serena broke up with Aaron 3 hours after she left New York to go to Buenos Aires. Dan & Serena get back together.

Peyton discovers she's pregnant. Brooke goes searching for Sam, who has been kidnapped from the guy who attacked Brooke and killed Quentin. Nathan continues his basketball quest. Mia struggles to get back into the music industry. Haley's elated to learn Peyton's pregnant. Brooke is attacked by Jack Daniel's brother after she finds out that he was her attacker. The police learn who Quentin's murderer is. Jamie and Andre take a trip to see Quentin at the cemetery. Lucas meets his director, who turns out to be Julian's father.

Lincoln and his team travel to Miami looking for Scylla. Michael learns some shocking secrets about his past while Sara searches for him.

Penny informs Sheldon that she intends to give gifts to him and Leonard on Christmas which happens to be around the corner. After considerable debate with Penny, Sheldon agrees to also give a gift to Penny on Christmas. However, in the dilemma of presenting Penny with a correctly valued gift, Sheldon buys multiple basket sizes of the same bath item gifts, intending to gift the correct size according to Penny's gift and return the rest of the baskets for a full refund. At the same time, Leonard starts working with David Underhill (Michael Trucco) — the winner of the MacArthur Genius Grant — who starts dating Penny. Seeing Penny get interested in Science because of David, Leonard starts to get jealous and ends up confronting Penny about his feelings. Penny then informs Leonard of her breakup with David after she found naked pictures of his wife on his cellphone when he tried to snap naked pictures of Penny. On Christmas Eve, Penny gives Leonard a gift certificate to motorcycle lessons — since it was the reason why Leonard hurt his leg — and Leonard gives Penny 101 Scientific Experiments for Kids — for her fake interest in Science while dating David. Penny then gives Sheldon a personally autographed napkin from Leonard Nimoy that he used to wipe his mouth, addressing Sheldon directly by his first name as a gift. Realizing the value of the gift and the DNA ("All I need is a healthy ovum and I can grow my own Leonard Nimoy!"), Sheldon proceeds to give Penny all the bath item baskets he bought for her. Since these were still not enough by Sheldon's standard, he proceeds to give Penny an awkward hug.

Michael gets medical attention from the most unlikely of places, and Westmoreland returns to help uncover the true meaning of Scylla. Meanwhile, Lincoln and Sucre race to stop Gretchen before Scylla is lost forever.

Christmas Eve does not go as planned when an amateur criminal on the run from the police crashes into the Buy More and takes Chuck, Ellie, Awesome and the rest of the Buy More gang hostage. In order to protect Chuck’s cover and the safety of the other hostages, Sarah and Casey secretly go in to the store to remove Chuck, but the mission quickly falls apart when Chuck refuses to leave his friends and family behind. Al Powell is a reference to Die Hard. Ned Rhyerson (the hostage-taker) is a reference to Groundhog Day. LT. Mauser is a reference to the Police Academy films.

After the showdown with Arthur, the Petrelli brothers find themselves against each other and Nathan makes a move that will have repercussions on the world. Sylar holds Claire, Noah, Meredith and Angela hostage, beginning a face-off at Primatech. Ando, Matt and Daphne continue their attempts to rescue Hiro from the past and Mohinder may be their only hope of achieving it.

To stop Arthur once and for all, Hiro and Claire travel back 16 years in time to when Hiro's father, Kaito, handed baby Claire to Noah, while Peter teams up with the Haitian, only to be intercepted by Sylar. In the meantime, Mohinder has a major breakthrough in the formula that will change everything.

Chuck spies on Sarah and sees her on a date with an older man (guest star Gary Cole). Chuck frantically tries to warn Sarah after he has an Intersect flash, but she assures Chuck that she is not in danger and reveals the identity of the mystery man. Meanwhile, Anna wants to move into an apartment with Morgan forcing him to finally act like an adult. Awesome offers to help Morgan pay for the apartment, but a relic from the past causes Morgan to lose focus on his new grown-up responsibilities.

Michael and Lincoln race to get Scylla back from Gretchen and Self who are just as determined to get a missing piece of the puzzle from the brothers. Meanwhile, Mahone meets with an old colleague who is torn between friendship and duty, and T-Bag’s faith is put to the test while holding Gretchen’s family hostage.

Leonard's relationship with Stephanie is moving too fast for him, so he runs to Penny for advice.

Visions of the Seeker's death prompt a sorceress named Shota to warn Richard not to go to Calabra. However, when Richard sees that they may have an opportunity to find Rahl through capturing Demmin Nass, Rahl's right-hand man, in Calabra, he ignores Shota's warning. Shota decides to temporarily exchange Richard's identity with that of a merchant's son, Gryff. Kahlan and Zedd leaves for Calabra with Gryff, who they think is Richard. On the way, Kahlan reveals her feelings for Richard to Gryff and how they can never be together because of her Confessor's power. Meanwhile, Richard is forced to marry Gryff's betrothed, Bronwyn. Bronwyn discovers that Richard is the Seeker and leads him to Calabra, where he reunites with Kahlan and Zedd, and saves Gryff's life. They learn from a document Kahlan took from Nass' tent that Rahl is looking for the boxes of Orden. Shota reveals to them a prophecy that foretells Kahlan betraying Richard.

The team is called in to investigate a bank robbery when one of the thieves is found embedded in a solid wall. Walter believes they're after something of his, but things take a turn for the worse when the thieves ambush one of them.
